The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

Topic: The impact of pandemic affecting our sustainable development goals growth with a special focus on industry innovation and infrastructure

About:

As the world enters an era of economic recession, the ramifications of this pandemic have been numerous, ranging from an increase in poverty rates to double-digit unemployment. This pandemic has harmed us in every manner, particularly economically, with China being the only major country to grow in 2020. It is critical for youngsters to understand how to approach this issue in this committee. It has hampered our progress toward achieving the SDGs, with industry taking the brunt of the blow, resulting in a reduction in infrastructure. Infrastructure has played a larger role in enhancing our successive industries, and when the pandemic slows the growth of industry, infrastructure cannot help on its own. Construction industries have seen a decrease in the number of contracts they receive, and industries like these, which have a high level of government interest, are still struggling. In this committee, we will figure out how we can help with some viable solutions.
