ABOUT QMUN

The SelaQui International School Model United Nations Conference is among the very few Junior MUN conferences. Since its inaugural edition, in 2015, the SelaQui International School Model United Nations Society has hosted an absorbing, creative, and highly engrossing conference annually, each one leaving a mark on society. QMUN has grown to one of the milestones in the MUNning Calendar of the schools all around the country. QMUN has evolved and developed its event by introducing new committees, creating unique crises situations, and setting unorthodox agendas to challenge the delegates, who will be our leaders for the world, tomorrow.

Letter from Secretary General

Greetings from SelaQui!

We hope you are keeping safe and healthy.

I write to you to invite your school to participate in the seventh edition of the SelaQui Model United Nations Conference 2022 (QMUN ‘22). This conference is open for boys and girls of classes 8 to 10. The conference will be held on 18th and 19th February virtually on Microsoft Teams. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Dare to Know.’

QMUN-22 brings with itself the opportunity for discussions, making lifelong comrades, and peaking new heights when it comes to debating and understanding world politics. QMUN prides itself on being one of the few junior MUNs in the country. Since its inaugural edition in 2015, it has created a new benchmark among high school students. In a world where the power of speech and diplomacy is very much required, QMUN sets the perfect ground to nourish these talents through the different sets of committees, celebrate crisis situations, and unique agendas.

I am looking forward to the discussions mindfully woven around the theme that shall lead us to more egalitarian solutions for society. This year we will simulate the following committees:

  1. The Security Council – (Double delegation)

  2. The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

  3. Lok Sabha

  4. Joint US Congress Session 1947 – Truman Doctrine (Crisis Committee)

  5. Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

  6. International Press Corps

Each school can send a maximum of two teams comprising 7 members each If you wish to register for QMUN 2021-22, kindly visit https://www.selaqui.org/qmun-22.php send us the attached form to qmun@selaqui.org. The closing date for registration is February 5. The details will be also available on the school website(www.selaqui.org) from January 15, 2022. You can contact Mr. Prashant Chaturvedi (prashantc@selaqui.org) on 9358360180 in case you have any queries.

Ritaksha Roy Burman

President

As the president of QMUN’22, I am delighted to welcome you to one of India’s top junior MUN. Ever since 2015, QMUN has made attempts to grow and expand. With the pandemic approaching, we've chosen to carry on our elders' legacy by launching the first "online" SelaQui Model United Nations. I promise all you budding delegates that this year it is going to be more informative, entertaining, and argumentative as all of you strive for Knowledge.

The theme for the MUN, “Dare to Know”, speaks about how the world is changing and how much knowledge is important for surviving in this uncertain present, future of ours. The decision which a person makes will always affect as well as shape him/her. In the same way, it is upon you delegates to take the responsibility for the decisions which will shape the fate of this world. Thus, with the collaborated efforts of our School, We present you with the chance to present yourself, reflect on sayings and enjoy raising the diplomat within you. I wish you all the very best and looking forward to meeting you all.'

Regards,

Ritaksha Roy Burman

President, QMUN 2021-22
